Making money online can be either difficult or simple; it’s your choice. The reason I wrote this article was to give you a few tips on how Adsense can make lots of money for you.
The first thing you need to do is find a niche. The Google Adwords Keyword Tool has served me well in this. I start by brainstorming words and typing them into the keyword tool.
There are 3 very important factors I look for in keywords:
1. What is the average cost per click on the keywords you are looking to target? The higher the cpc, the better the keyword you have found. The same amount of effort goes into building all websites. You should put your effort into one that will pay you top dollar. Brand names of products often have a much higher cpc. In my experience, two dollars per click is a good bottom dollar amount.
2. How many times is the word typed in per month? I set my minimums at about 10,000 times per month. If you are going to put all the effort into designing a website, it should be one that will generate a great deal of traffic.
3. What is the competition level of your keywords? The fewer results when you type your keywords into Google, the better. I have one website that had less than 50,000 search results for the keywords I targeted. With only two backlinks, it was in the top ten rankings of Google when it first got listed. The higher the competition level, the more difficulty you will have to word to get top 10 rankings in search engines. It is possible to get high rankings with any level of competition, but it can be very frustrating trying to achieve them. It is much easier to accomplish one hundred websites that make only a dollar or two per day than one website that makes one or two hundred dollars per day. The sites that make only a dollar or two per day also require much less maintenance to maintain the high rankings, as nobody else is working is competing for the rankings.
After you have brainstormed some keywords, look and see if the .com or .net of the exact phrase you found is available. Other extensions of domains can also move up in the rankings, but I have been most successful with .com’s and .net’s. .com’s are always the most coveted and preferred domains. If the domain for your phrase is not available, keep looking until you discover a good one that is not taken. In my experience, one or two good domain names per hour has been my success rate for brainstorming. Not every domain that looks good is a winner, but they usually at least pay for themselves.
The reason the exact phrase should be used in your domain name is because the search engines usually give preference to exact phrase domains in their rankings. I have successfully moved to the number one spot in search engine rankings with sites that were not the exact search phrase, and that had the exact search phrase, along with another word or two, but it took much more time than my domains that had only the exact search phrase.
If you can manage to build just one website per day that makes one dollar per day, in time, less than a year’s work will earn you more than one hundred thousand dollars per year for the rest of your life. It often takes me just a couple of hours to find a domain name and build a website. Then the work lies in building backlinks and moving up is search engine rankings.
