Why A Website?
This is a question that has been posed many times.
Truth is, there are many reasons to having a website. You might have one , or you might have all of them.
From our experience, let us give you 3 good reasons why companies decide to go online.
Why a website?
Because..
1) A website is an effective marketing tool for any company. You can be a wholesaler of pet food products , perhaps a human resource specialist , a construction firm , a restaurant or even a retail outlet. The possible reasons for having a website are endless.
However one very beneficial aspect of having a website we feel is important to note is that , a website represents your company 24 hours a day , 7 days a week , 365 days a month. It serves as a very important point of contact with the viewer and your company.
Scenario 1a : A prospect from a different time zone wishes to find out more about your services. However it’s 12AM at your office and there is no one in your office to answer the phone. Instead, he hears an automated voice message asking him to go to your website if he requires more details. The prospect may then proceed to your website and find out about all your products and services.
Scenario 1b : It is a busy day at your office and all your phone lines are busy. Many interested prospects out there wish to call you and inquire about your product. However because of the lack of manpower / phone lines, you are unable to attend to them. Thankfully, all of them hears an automated voice message asking him to go to your website if he requires more details. The prospect may then proceed to your website and find out about all your products and services. There you go, many customers saved and more money made.
So how about that? What your company lacks in manpower it makes up in it’s efficient website information and more importantly, doesn’t miss out on a single customer. Would all that be possible without a company website? I highly doubt so.
2) A website also connects you to a global audience – The Internet. This opens up more opportunities for your business to reach out and increases awareness.
Scenario 2a : A prospect is interested in web design services and searches the search engines for a web design provider. He comes across your website and goes through your content. He then decides to email you requesting for an appointment to further discuss his needs. Voila, you have yourself a customer!
Scenario 2b : A prospect hears about the mention of your company’s name on the streets, he happens to be in need of a local web designing company. Thus, he goes home and does the most logical thing to do then – Google your webpage. The search results comes up with your company’s webpage and the interested prospects is then able to call you up and strike a deal with you.
Now tell me, would the above two scenarios have been possible if your company didn’t have a website? I believe it’s more likely he’ll end up at your competitor’s website, where they have taken the wise step to have gotten their own company’s website. You wouldn’t want to lose out to them would you?
3) A website allows you to keep in touch with your customers even when you’re unable to contact them.
Scenario 3a : Your past customers visit your website to find out what your company is doing and if there are any new services / products that you provide. They also check to keep in touch with the latest updates and events in your company. This effortlessly creates a closer bond with your customer without the hassle of constantly calling / emailing them about new updates to their products or the introduction of the latest products.
Scenario 3b : A recent customer of yours is experiencing troubles with his latest product purchase from you. He lives miles away and needs urgent help. He thus goes to your website and VOILA! you have a Help section on your website that directs him through all the possible difficulties and troubles that he might experience with the purchase of your product. Your customer is then extremely satisfied and more importantly, continues to be a loyal customer to your business and spreads the good word.
Will you look at that, your company helping people without lifting a single finger (besides typing the help section), what more, your company’s reputation being built without your marketing director going crazy and banging on your door for a larger budget. All this happens with ease and automation with having your own company website.
Thus in conclusion, i believe that by now you should be convinced that having a website for your company is the way to go. Aside from the 3 benefits listed above, there are countless other benefits of having a company website! And fret not, it’s not costly at all to have your own company website, there are really affordable professional web designing companies out there that can do the job for you.
