Samsung is one of the leading brands of high definition televisions, whether it’s LCD or Plasma HDTVs. Samsung even makes good rear-projection HDTVs. If you’re thinking about replacing your old television with a great HDTV, then, it is a good idea to consider a Samsung HDTV, like one of these top Samsung HDTV models.

Samsung UN55B8000

This LED-lit Samsung HDTV is one of the latest offered by Samsung, as well as one of the slimmest. Indeed, the UN55B8000 is razor-thin at 1.2 inches, although its picture quality is more eye-catching, with popping colors and blacks that are amazingly pure for an LCD television. Unlike many LCD TVs, it offers fluid frame transition, as well, because of its Auto Motion Plus 240Hz technology. It also carries a bunch of cool features, such as a sidebar for internet widgets, DLNA connectivity and an extensive Content Library while offering four HDMI inputs and a USB interface for you to share your digital pictures and videos with ease.

Samsung UN46B7000

Like the UN55B8000, the Samsung UN46B7000 has an LED backlight, which contributes to the fact that it is light, cool and extremely energy-efficient. It also has accurate colors and deep black levels, while its dejudder processing and 120Hz refresh rate combine to create sharp and clear pictures all throughout, even during fast motion sequences. In terms of connectivity, it offers four HDMI inputs, a PC input so you can use the screen as a computer monitor, two USB slots for sharing your photos and an ethernet port to connect to your network.

Samsung LN46A950

The Samsung LN46A950 is also a good choice for an LCD HDTV. With its LED backlight, it reproduces black levels that are amazingly deep for an LCD television, as well as extremely accurate colors. Other features include solid video processing, a lot of pre-loaded interactive content, four HDMI inputs, a PC input and an ethernet connection to stream photos and videos from your network. It also has a lot of picture controls, which allows you to calibrate the picture quality of this HDTV to perfection.

Samsung LN52B750

The LN52B750 may lack an S-video input and more importantly, an LED backlight but it still is a great choice for an LCD HDTV. In fact, its black levels are impressively deep for an LCD TV. Its motion sequences are clear, too, due to its very good dejudder processing. Like other Samsung HDTVs, it offers built-in content and Yahoo widgets, and still provides solid connectivity with four HDMI inputs and a PC input.

Samsung PN50B850

If you would rather own a Plasma HDTV, this Samsung HDTV is a great choice, with many innovative features of its own. It has a FilterBright panel to minimize glare and reflections, a Real Movie Mode for playing 24p signals and a 600Hz Subfield Motion drive for clear fast-moving scenes. The best thing about the PN50B850, though, is that it is Wi-Fi ready. All you have to do is buy the Samsung Linstick and you’re all set to receive wireless signals. You can also wire it to your network via an ethernet connection or connect your computer to its PC input. It also offers four HDMI inputs and two USB slots.

Samsung PN50A760

This Samsung HDTV is also a good choice for a Plasma HDTV. Like the PN50B850, it also has a FilterBright panel to reduce distractions, as well as DLNA connectivity for network streaming. It has its own great features, though, such as advanced contour distortion reduction, which delivers sharp images on curvy surfaces even during fast moving scenes; day and night settings for optimal picture quality all the time, and InfoLink feature, which allows you to access the latest news, weather and other important information with the push of a button.

Samsung HL61A750

Finally, if you would rather get a rear-projection HDTV, you might want to keep an eye out for this Samsung HDTV, which delivers outstandingly accurate color temperatures and infinite black levels for superior picture quality. It has a good range of connectivity options, too, such as three HDMI inputs and a PC input, although it lacks a USB interface, an ethernet port or an SD card slot. It is comparatively inexpensive, too.

Sentry DA3930 Security Safe Review

If you’re considering buying a fingerprint safe, one of the most popular safes on the market is the Sentry Safe DA3930 Biometric Safe. Straight out of the box, it is advertised that it helps protect your valuables from water, fire, and theft and is an ideal biometric safe for homes and businesses as it can be programmed for multiple users. The Sentry DA3930 is a popular introductory safe, but does it live up to its reputation? AvidBiometrics.com, a retailer who sells a variety of biometric safes, was kind enough to let us borrow this safe for a few weeks to put it up to the test. So here we go.

General Description

To begin, the DA3930 provides anti-theft features with 6 live-locking bolts. The locking mechanism is completely biometric and includes a backlit electronic keypad with a tubular key for additional security. The safe is also designed to protect from water and 2 hours of fire protection. The safe is ETL verified to protect contents from 2 hours of fire, and the water resistance is a great features in the event of a flood, or a fire where a sprinkler system is activated to extinguish the flames.

Construction

The Sentry DA3930 fingerprint safe features armored steel construction, a metal handle, and 6 live-locking bolts to help protect your valuables. The safe is very sleek looking with a black and gunmetal gray finish with very clean hardware. The finger safe is easily bolted to a floor and even comes with mounting hardware. Other safes we have reviewed often charge extra for mounting hardware! To test it, we bolted the safe to a piece of plywood and found it to be an easy project for any do-it-yourselfer. We secured it in less than 20 minutes.

Fire Protection

Due to fire code restrictions in our warehouse, we were unable to put the safe to the ultimate test, but no worries – the good folks at Underwriters Laboratories have done that for us! This fingerprint safe is UL classified for 2 hours of fire protection for temperatures up to 1850 degrees F. It is designed to protect media like CD’s, DVD’s, and other electronics from water and fire. Lastly, in the event you decide to throw your safe out of a window (for whatever reason), it is UL classified for a 30-foot drop test.

Organizational Features

One of the key selling points we liked while reviewing this Sentry Safe is that is functional and has various features to help you keep your documents and valuables and organized. This fingerprint safe has a removal tray that allows you to stack your possessions, or you can remove it to store larger items. The tray worked well and fits A-4 sized papers and binders perfectly, helping you keep the contents extremely organized. It also includes a handy key rack on the door, so you can easily organize keys and label them. Perfect for the highly organized types like ourselves. This biometric safe also features a compartment on the door which is perfect for small items such as a jewelry, money, or small valuables.

The Fingerprint Lock

Again, the key selling point of the DA3930 is that it uses your fingerprint to authorize entry. We tested over 50 fingerprints and the biometric scanner performed perfectly every time. For the tech savvy – the biometric scanner utilizes a scanner which generates images at 500 dpi which meets the FBI and CIA security standards for reading fingerprints. Very cool.

The Sentry DA3930 allows you to have one manager (or administrator) and up to7 users. The manager has complete override ability and each user can store 2 fingerprints and an individual PIN code. Again, this is great for home use or an office setting where multiple people have access to the fingerprint safe. The DA3930 offers dual lock construction. What this means is that the safe can be opened via a fingerprint scan or with the users programmed PIN.

The Results

After using this safe for a week, we were very pleased with it. Our only complaints was that we felt that the interior could be made of a more solid material and that the handle could be a bit more solid. Maybe it was the specific model we tested, but we have noticed that on numerous security safes that we test. Although, the safe is designed for theft protection, we feel that it makes a good introductory safe (especially at 135 lbs.) If you’re considering a solid steel completely indestructible safe, you’re generally looking at one that weighs over 500 lbs and costs several thousand dollars.

Despite these few slight drawbacks, the price is right for this safe. It runs around $400 and is a great introductory safe for anyone looking for the protection of a safe and the awesome functionality of biometric technology.

Again, thanks to AvidBiometrics.com for letting us write a Sentry DA3930 Review. Avid carries several dozen fingerprint safes at great prices, so be sure to check them out when you’re looking for a fingerprint safe!

SEO or SEM

Make more money. That’s your newly defined goal for your existing website. Revenue, Sales, Profits! To do that you’ll have to get more visitors to your site and not only that, more buyers and fewer shoppers! You’re not a geek but you’ve read a little about some of the new Internet technologies designed to help you do that, like Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing. What’s the difference between the two and which is better for you and your wallet?

The Differences between SEO and SEM

There are some misguided souls in the wonderful world of the web who think these two technologies are synonymous. Perhaps this is because the two essentially have the same goal: increased traffic, but the similarities end there. In reality, SEM is a subset of SEO in that it relies on specific techniques to achieve the end result of more visitors. Typical SEM techniques involve a variety of forms of paid advertising. Sponsored or Traditional Ads is one of them. You’re seen the results on the right hand side of a Google Search Results page. These are paid ads and they appear if the search query entered by the Internet user matches a keyword in the ad. But these ads are expensive and the sponsor pays a fee every time the ad pops up — whether the user clicks through the ad to get to the website or not. Another popular SEM technique is PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising. Here the sponsor writes a text ad and selects the keywords which will bring up the ad and the amount they will pay. Google Adwords is a form of PPC advertising and the sponsoring company only pays here when the user actually clicks through the ad.

SEM — although it can be expensive — does have the advantage of “right now” in that it has the potential to draw visitors to your site quickly. SEO is a more involved process that seeks to make your site more “organically” attractive by improving things like the links within the site and to the site from other places. An organic result — the sites listed on the left side of a SERP (Search Engine Results Page) — is one that comes up strictly based on the content and popularity of the site with no paid prompting involved. But this process takes time. Another way to look at what SEO can do is to dig into that highly technical term — “stickiness.”

Stickiness: What Do They Do When They Get There?

The most expensive, well designed, and well written SEM campaign may get visitors to your site, but they do nothing to ensure the visitor will “stick” or stay on the site and not take a glance and immediately hit the back button on the browser. If your site is poorly designed making it hard for the visitor to navigate and it contains poorly written content visitors will head for the button. SEO looks at all aspects of what makes a site attractive to a Search Engine. If you’re truly interested in getting the biggest bang for your buck consider getting into an SEO campaign with some SEM techniques as part of that campaign. Good luck meeting your goal!

If your company is exhibiting at trade shows, you should consider investing in custom built exhibition stands to give your company the visual presence you need to make an immediate impact in a crowded hall full of your competitors.

These display stands are tailor-made to fit a customer’s exact requirements – unlike pop-up stands you are not limited to specific sizes or shapes, and can incorporate the multi-media displays which make you stand out.

Custom built exhibition stands can be designed and built incorporating a myriad of raw materials, including timber, steel, aluminium, fibreglass, glass and Perspex. This unique substructure is then clad with exhibition specific display graphics. The design of these panels can be finely tuned to maximise your return from the visiting audience. The final layer of the exhibition stand is the lighting. Effective LED and coloured lighting helps to project a positive sensory side to the stand.

All of the above elements are augmented by the final branding elements, AV and IT. These are the interactive elements that enable visitors to immerse themselves in the brand experience. Effective AV and IT enables stand staff to easily engage with the stand visitor, facilitating the flow of valuable information enabling the exhibitor to maximise their return from each visitor.

Custom built exhibition stands can be designed to convey the feelings you want to engender in your company – feelings of history, experience and reliability. On the other hand depending upon the brand the exhibition stand can convey a fresh vibrant and modern image. The design and custom build process will enable you to have total control over the evolution of your exhibition vision – you are no longer limited to flat walls and pop-up stands.

Custom built exhibition stands will enable you to eliminate any design flaws that could ultimately impact upon your exhibition experience. Solutions to typical problems, such as ensuring that you have enough space to display your products effectively, or having enough seating areas for visitors, can be incorporated in the planning stage when your stand is planned and designed at the CAD design stage. You should be able to see 3D models of your customised stand design, easily allowing you to spot any potential issues and rectify them before any physical work is done in building your exhibition stand.

Good exhibition stand designs companies will offer you the whole package around the stand as well. These include erecting the stand, dismantling the stand and storing the stand when not in use. Custom stands can be very big – and careful storage is necessary to make sure when you come to use the stand again it is in pristine condition and ready to use.

If you are running a workshop or seminar on your stand, the design integrity of the stand will go a long way to immediately impressing your visiting attendees. An effective custom built exhibition stand will convey a cohesive professionalism and will reinforce your brand values without the use of the spoken word. A very powerful selling tool indeed!
